PMS stands for Pantone Matching System, a set of custom ink blending formulas used to create a standardization of color throughout the print industry. Because often colors do not print true to what you see on screen, PMS colors are called out by graphic designers to ensure that the color vision for their design is printed as they intended. PMS colors often carry an additional color mixing charge, because there are 1000's of PMS colors and print facilities typically stock just a basic set of popular stock colors. Each batch of PMS matched ink is mixed by a specialist specifically for that individual order.
